- Lillian Anderson Arboretum – Magnificent Photo Ops
Have you been hunting for a good nature fix in the Kalamazoo area? Look no further than the Lillian Anderson Arboretum. The private facility is owned by Kalamazoo College and open to the public. One of the many beautiful features of Lillian Anderson Arboretum are the Magnificent Pines. They are certainly magnificent as they stand tall and in unison. Be sure to bring your camera for some amazing photo ops!
- Kalamazoo Farmer’s Market & Night Markets
From fresh seasonal produce and homemade bread and pastries to beautiful, hand-crafted items, there is something for everyone at the Kalamazoo Farmer’s Market! Busy during the day? No worries! There is an amazing Night Market hosted on the fourth Thursday of each month. Be sure to grab your tote bags and head down to the Kalamazoo Farmers Market. For the 2021 season, the market will be held at Mayors’ Riverfront Park at 251 Mills Street.

Kalamazoo has so many unique and delectable dining experiences! One of these experiences is the Chau Haus Schnitzel Station. Dine in or take out some delicious sausage, sauerkraut, or schnitzel! Vegan options are also available upon request. Looking for a sweet treat? Call 24 hours in advance to order one of their many cheesecake options!
- Kazoo Books
Calling all bookworms! You must visit Kazoo Books if you’re an avid reader and book lover. This shop offers a trade-In policy where you can bring in unmarked books in good condition for store credit. Trade-ins are evaluated on a book-by-book basis.
- Husted Farmer’s Market and Cider Mill
There are many great cider mills and farms around Kalamazoo. One of our favorites is the Husted Farmer’s Market. They are a family-owned business and are open June through November. From fresh produce, salsas, jams, pies, and other baked goods, you won’t regret visiting this gem. Enjoy some fresh apple cider during the fall months!
- Colleen Rockey Mural (1974)
While strolling around downtown Kalamazoo, be sure to stop by the vibrant mural created by artist Colleen Rockey. In 1974, the City of Kalamazoo commissioned 6 artists to paint murals on buildings in downtown Kalamazoo. Rockey’s mural is the only remaining mural from the competition. In 2018, the mural was touched up by Rockey. Her hope is that viewers will “stop, look, and think.” Be sure to check out this beautiful gem in Kalamazoo!
